Keeping Patong Beach Beautiful

With Patong Beach being such a popular playground, keeping the beach clean takes teamwork, and as a beachfront resort it's our duty to muck in and do our bit to keep the beach clean. Here's the KEE Go Green Team on a clean-up mission along Patong Beach. They're easy to spot in their green shirts, diligently picking up discarded plastic, paper and all sorts of other rubbish buried in the sand. Once a few bags are filled, the rubbish is sorted and sent for recycling as part of our 'KEE Go Green' initiative to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Phuket Carnival Comming

It's that festive time of year again as we near the end of 2012 and celebrate the end of the rainy season as we look forward to a bright new year.

 

2013 will mark The Kee Resort & Spa's 3^rd year in operation near Patong Beach, but before all that, there's plenty to celebrate on Phuket this December with the Phuket Carnival coming to town in all its glory. From the 15^th to 20^th December the streets of Patong will be filled with daily and nightly processions highlighting the island's traditions and culture with floats ornately decorated with flowers and featuring magnificently artistic displays.

 

Thailand's famous OTOP products – locally-made handicrafts – will be on sale at market stalls along Patong beach front, alongside all sorts of southern Thai style snacks and treats among the plethora of food on offer for every taste.

 

Of course the summer sun at this time of year in Thailand attracts sun seekers from all over the world who want to escape cold winter climates, but you can rest assured there's plenty of festive Christmas and New Year spirit right here in the tropics, especially at the Kee Resort, where we'll be putting on a gala Christmas dinner for families and throwing a fun-filled New Year party on the rooftop to see in 2013 in style.

We've got plenty of rainy day activities to keep guests of all ages amused. Parents, you can drop off the little ones at the KEE Kids Club and the KEE Games Room, where they can make new friends and join in games of table football, table tennis and of course video games as well as other supervised activities. And while the kids are making new friends, you can curl up with a good book on the sofa with your favourite drink or watch the latest sporting events on the wide screen TVs at KEE Drink.

At the newly opened KEE Drink you're sure to find your favourite liquid companion to sip in comfort on the big sofas and at the bar. We've got teas and coffees from around the world and all sorts of fruity cocktail and non-alcoholic mocktail concoctions, plus a wide range of new- and old-world wines and international beers by the glass as well as various light foods and snacks.

THREE - Food Glorious Food

When it comes to serious dining experiences the Kee Resort has it all. There's all-day dining at the Kee Kitchen, serving buffet breakfast and then lunch and dinner with real Italian pasta and pizzas, an array of freshly-baked breads, daily chef's specials plus of course a mouthwatering menu of real Thai cuisine with a contemporary twist. Don't Panic

Tsunami warning announcements are primarily a precautionary measure to ensure people have plenty of time to prepare in the rare event that a tsunami wave may be heading towards the island.

The most recent tsunami warning on April 11 was due to an earthquake which occurred about 300 miles from Phuket and was reported immediately to stations monitoring the Indian Ocean, giving people in Phuket at least 2 hours notice.

Fortunately the resulting wave measured only 10cm high.

We are Prepared

However, in the event of a genuine threat from natural disaster or otherwise, staff at The Kee Resort & Spa are well trained to deal with emergency situations.

In the event of a tsunami warning, The Kee Resort offers a safe haven for the public in the Patong Beach area, including non-guests or guests of other hotels.

Kee Resort staff will be on hand to direct people in an orderly manner to the safest area.

Staff will also check every guest room to ensure all guests are safe and their valuables secure.

Tsunamis Are Rare

Again, please rest assured that the tsunami warning system is designed to give people plenty of time to prepare if an earthquake occurs anywhere in the Indian Ocean so in the unlikely event that you experience a tsunami warning, please remain calm and follow the instructions of The Kee Resort 7 Spa staff.
